About Me

I began taking photos when i was at school, some 28 years ago. I dabbled with Photography for a few years after and decided to take the plunge in 1988 and set up my own business; Young Ones Photography. I specialised in child portraiture as well as covering press work for Local and national publications and magazines, and, of course, weddings. I was one of the founders of the Alness & District Times and helped with typsetting and design for nigh on 10 years.

I cover all types of weddings whether it's a small registry office ceremony, civil ceremony or full church wedding. No matter what type of wedding you're having, you'll want to know you can relax and enjoy your big day, safe in the knowledge your photography is in good hands.

All my packages offer a range of traditional formal shots mixed with some informal candid style photography mixing colour, black & white, sepia tone, and other digital effects. I can also adjust skin tone, remove blemishes and tattos etc.

I got married myself in 2006 and found out exactly how wedding costs can mount up. It's really outrageous what people charge for some things as soon as the word 'Wedding' is mentioned.A photographer in Surrey is charging £125 per extra hour!

With the current economic climate, couples have to be certain of obtaining a high quality service but still ensuring value for money. With the skills we have learnt over a 28 year period we can provide this value for the monies being committed whilst still ensuring a professional quality service, in a style and manner to match the clients requirements and expectations.

Eagle eyed viewers will perhaps notice the dearth of photographs on this site. In 2006 we had a massive house fire which destroyed almost everything including negative files and photographs. I am in the process of going to couples that i photographed and asking to borrow some photos to scan. The only photos that survived are the 5300 i have taken of my daughter since her birth!
